Bill McDonald has served as the Dean of Students at the University of Georgia since January 1, 2011. Prior to UGA, he served 20.5 years as a senior student affairs officer, and nine years in residence life. Bill earned a B.A. from North Carolina, a M.A. from Appalachian State, and a Ed.D from Tennessee.
Since joining SACSA in 1993, Bill has served as President, CSAJ Associate Editor, Executive Council Member at Large, SACSA Scholar, Director of MMI, Faculty Member at 3 other MMIs, CSAJ Reviewer, chaired two committees and provided dozens of pre-conference and interest session presentations at annual conferences. Bill is a prior recipient of the Melvene Draheim Hardee Award and the Dissertation of the Year Award.
Bill and Anne McDonald recently celebrated their 25th anniversary and have two daughters attending college. Bill's community service includes The American Red Cross, the YMCA, Chamber of Commerce Leadership Programs, and an active leader and Sunday School teacher in the churches he has attended.
