SACSA Annual Conference with NASPA Region III Common Read

Housed in the Conference Committee, under the Programs Chair, the common read goal is to provide a shared experience and bring the SACSA family even closer together for the Conference, with a common ground for dialogue about our field of Higher Education.

This year, the conference common read is partnering with the Social Innovation Committee, to work to bring social innovation into the discussion, and to better our practice in student development. Please be on the lookout for exciting conference programs specific to the common read and social innovation, including a concurrent session and keynote speaker. You can expect to learn about these updates via SACSAlerts, social media, and the Conference Guidebook.

Before the conference, keep an eye out on SACSAlert, SACSAChats and Twitter for beginning these conversations.

This year, the book selected is College (Un)Bound by Jeffrey Selingo. This book explores the current state of higher education and predicts the future direction of colleges and universities in America. Selingo, a former editor of the Chronicle of Higher Education provides an in-depth look at the impact of technology, student loan debt, and unemployment on the college experience.

Check out Amazon’s great deals on this book - including free with Kindle Unlimited or an Audible trial!

If you’re interested, please utilize the reading schedule to stay on target with reading and be most prepared for the Conference!
